Andernach Germany

Before Kenneth-Edward Swinscoe 1979 born on May 20th, 1949 in Nottingham came to Germany, he lived in Plymouth Devon in the southwest of England where he had specialized himself in the restoration of buildings as stonemason and sculptor.
At the age of 15 years, Swinscoe started with an apprenticeship as stonemason and sculptor which lasted for altogether five years, inclusive of a six-month education, for the sculptor. After completion of his teaching, he immediately  made himself independent to work on  building restoration, built fireplaces with in stone, created natural stone façades and many more natual stoe works.
Kenneth-Edward Swinscoe was  within young years already interested in the painting and design of pictures. While the rest of his class were dealing with other practical work, he got the permission from his teachers for the possibility, of taking part in the art lesson for considerably older pupils. Due to his artistic skills a scholarship was offered to him for an art collage, which he had, however, to decline since his parents couldn't finance the necessary living costs for him.  Instead of this he received additional private art lessons during his apprenticeship and, was allowed to go through a kind of traineeship among some regionally known artists. He also concentrated on his art during his time as a self-employed stonemason and got in the context of different exhibitions the possibility in Plymouth of presenting his pictures in galleries and Museums.
In 1979 Kenneth-Edward Swinscoe came to Cologne to earn the money as a bricklayer to finance his own planned studio in England. He then entered service as a stonemason in Marburg. When he became acquainted with his companion through life who was living in Andernach , he decided to build himself an existence as stonemason and bricklayer in Germany. Since this physically hard work got was more difficult for him because of his back problems, he decided on recommendation of the LVA to retrain to be a draughtsman in the Professional support centre in Cologne Michaelshoven in 1997. Swinscoe noticed very fast that he could combine his artistic skills with the newly gained knowledge of the draughtsman. This should be of benefit to him soon since he didn't find any employment as making draughtsman. In his leisure time he started  to use his newly won abilities for his individual art form.
Swinscoe received a great compliment from Anke Fuchs during an exhibition initiated by the Professional support centre for his work in 1998. At this time a great example for Swinscoe was Leonardo Vinci, Salvatore Dali, reflected also in his pictures. With Leonardo Vinci's borrowed floating figures, today he paints  his pictures appearing surrealistic against each other with graphic architectural perspective elements.
The work is appropriately various at the emergence of his pictures.  Swinscoes first graphic thoughts  arise at the drawing-board to be transferred true to scale in  Indian ink. The drawing there upon with the help of a computer  scanned, copied on a canvas and  then it becomes colour with oilpaint. After Swinscoe was represented with some of his work, as a guest exhibitor with the of Pellenz artist group in the exhibition "Michelsmarkt of the arts" as well as in the context of an exhibition in the Rheintor he started multiple attempts to become a member of the Pellenz artist group. Since he didn't receive any answer from  two written inquiries, he accepted the offer of a membership of Elvira Boers in  the "Andernach rainbow 94" in the year 1999. His works enjoy the "Andernach  rainbow 94" of great popularity at all exhibitions since then.  -SF-
